NEU PC PLUS Programme (IDA)

The NEU PC Plus Programme offers students and persons with disabilities from low income households the opportunity to own a brand new computer at an affordable price.

The programme provides the following schemes

  • The PC-Bundle scheme provides two tier subsidy for applicants to own a new computer with free software and three years of free subscription to broadband services. 

  • The iNSPIRE Fund scheme offers financial assistance to full-time students (aged 25 years and below) who are unable to co-pay for the computer applied under the PC-Bundle scheme. 

  • The Broadband-Only scheme offers broadband access, at a subsidised rate, to households that already own computers but are unable to afford broadband subscriptions. 

  • The Grant Scheme for Schools allow interested schools to process, procure and deploy infocomm devices, software or broadband services on behalf of their students from low-income families, so as to meet the schools' and students' learning objectives and needs. 

Enhancements from 1 Sep 2016

(a)  Qualifying monthly household income cap has been raised from $3,000 to $3,400; and per capita income (PCI) from $800 to $900 for the applicants of the PC-Bundle scheme;

(b)  Qualifying monthly household income cap has been raised from $2,300 to $2,500; and PCI from $600 to $700 for the applicants of iNSPIRE Fund;

(c)  Tier 1 qualifying PCI has been raised from $600 to $700 for PC-Bundle Scheme applicants;

(d)  SPED-FAS recipients will be included as qualified recipient under Tier 1 along with MOE-FAS recipient, regardless of their PCI; and

(e)  PC and Broadband specifications has been refreshed (see IDA website).

5.            Applicants who have submitted their application form and would like to convert to the new PC and broadband options, are to provide the revised Conversion Form from the website and submit by 15 Nov 2016.
