Poly EAE

Polytechnic EAE

The Polytechnic Early Admission Exercise (Poly EAE) is an aptitude-based admission exercise that provides a pathway for graduating O-Level students to apply for and receive conditional offers for admission to the polytechnics. Beyond academic grades, EAE applicants are considered on the basis of demonstrated aptitude and interest towards a specific course. It is strongly recommended for students who are clear about what they want to pursue in our Post-Secondary Educational Institutes (PSEIs).

The Poly EAE for O-Level students, for admission to the polytechnics in Academic Year 2022, will commence on 24 June 2021 to 30 Jun 2021. Polytechnics will have the discretion to determine their modes of assessment, such as portfolios, interviews and aptitude tests, where relevant and appropriate. Polytechnics may also consider participation in relevant co-curricular activities (CCAs), Advanced Elective Modules (AEMs), Applied Learning Programmes (ALP) and Applied Subjects, as well as participation in activities such as work attachments and sustained involvement in projects that are related to the course students are applying for.

To ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff amidst the COVID-19 situation, the polytechnics will conduct EAE selections largely via electronic means, such as online interviews, or portfolio submissions over email, for most courses. On-campus selection will still need to proceed for some courses, where the selection process cannot be meaningfully replicated in a remote manner.

We recognise that the shift to remote selection will affect many students, and that students will require more support to adapt to this mode of selection. By working closely with our education partners, we have consolidated the following online support structures.
