Values in Action (VIA) are learning experiences that support students’ development as socially responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to the community through the learning and application of values, knowledge and skills. One of the key features of our school’s VIA programme is the promotion of student ownership in each VIA project where they discover what they care about and where they can effect positive change. In each project, our students learn to take action to improve a situation they care about, seek to promote awareness so that others may learn about an important concern in the community and continue to be an advocate by inspiring and influencing others to make a difference. In our school, we believe in greater ownership of our students in their VIA learning experiences because students will find VIA more meaningful and be more motivated to continue making a difference to the community and nation.
