All Secondary One Navalites admitted to our school via DSA will benefit from customised talent development programmes to groom them to become leaders in their respective talent areas. They will develop both performance and moral character through the active use of SHIPSHAPE, our leadership development model adapted from John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success, and inculcation of the school’score values as they grow within their respective CCAs and student development programmes.

The detailed benefits for the respective talent areas are given below:
Visual Arts

- Be emplaced on the Art Talent Development Programme (ATDP) wing of our Art Club, and go through an enhanced art curriculum that stretches their talents and grooms them for excellence in art
- Have abundant opportunities to create and exhibit their artworks in the school and beyond
- Participate in local and/or overseas art competitions and projects on an individual and/or group basis
- Participate in clinics / workshops / attachments with practising artists
- Visit and participate in attachments to local art museums and/or galleries
- Receive personalised educational and career guidance in art
- Based on their performance and other criteria, participate in at least one overseas art learning trip
Further, students will benefit from an art programme that has, through continual review and refinement, grown into one that not only provides students with rich learning in art but also develops their character and 21st-century competencies. In the last few years, the school’s efforts to provide students with a comprehensive art education have been affirmed through the:

Be emplaced in a Uniformed Group CCA and participate in the following talent development programmes:
- CCA leadership
- Cadet leadership and/or specialist courses
- Opportunities to plan and lead combined Uniformed Group programmes
- Participate in local and/or overseas camps
Be prioritised for school-level student leadership appointments and participate in the following:
- Class Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson appointment in Secondary 1
· Advanced appointment to Student Council in Secondary 1 and be involved in leadership programmes within and outside of school
- Opportunities to lead and organise school-level programmes/events/ projects with the Student Council

Performing Arts – Choir

- Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentations

Upon graduation, outstanding vocalists will be given opportunities to be a part of the Singapore Symphony Youth Choir.
